I hate packing.

I’m moving into a slightly smaller apartment with less storage space. So, on top of packing, I’ve been trying to get rid of stuff.

It has been an “interesting” day.

Well, back to packing…

I’m ready for this to be OVER.

I really enjoyed spending time with my mother.

But, who would’ve guessed…

… we spent the whole weekend tagging along behind this guy she likes.

I’ve found that having a “motto” or saying that comes to mind can be very helpful at times. Daddy has a way with words and has thus supplied mottos for many occasions. In high school, there was the “fly high” reminder to strive for excellence. In college there was the ever difficult “be where you are; do what you are doing.”

As I moved into the workplace and realized just how exacting I can be, George Sand was the inspiration: Guard within yourself that treasure kindness. Know how to give without hesitation, how to lose without regret, and how to acquire without meanness. Know how to replace in your heart, by the happiness of those you love, the happiness that may be wanting to yourself.

I’ve also managed to find a few key sayings from movies, such as “I know because I must know. It is my purpose. It is the reason I am here. The same reason we are all here.”. (10 points if you get the pun!)

So, this weekend, I think I discovered a new motto – one fitting for this particular season of life. “Planning is essential. Planning does not obviate the need for flexibility.”

And, oh the view -

The blizzards were so pretty.

And, now I’m on the 3^rd floor.

Same lot as the groc’ry store.

The view outside

A tree to hide -

Large branches I do adore.

But – at 12 to 3 I wake up -

Outside there is a shake up.

Jolted from sleep.

A truck doth creep

Attempting ice to scrape up.

From 12 to 3, a wonder

9 floors – and now I’m under

This new night curse

While crews disperse –

The white snow split asunder.

I stayed and did MORE work today just so that I could write the date on more pieces of paper.

Thoughts?  Momma?  Anyone?
